Mark Connors - Write that novel

Mark Connors - author and poet

Ilkley Literature Festival's Open Mic winner for 2014 and 2015!

"Mark Connors delivered an excellent workshop on 'Writing the Voice' in two of our Bradford libraries. The attendees found his session engaging, informative and inspiring. Mark really knows his stuff – he knows how to express the innermost thoughts and feelings of his characters in an authentic, fully rounded way and he was able to encourage others to do the same regardless of where they were on the writing journey. Mark is an intelligent, generous and encouraging tutor who is passionate about writing and the importance of being able to write and to express oneself."

"I have wanted/needed to attend a good writing workshop for ages, and have kept avoiding them because of being busy, or nervous, or lazy – but when I signed up for Gill and Mark's weekly online poetry workshops a last month, I suddenly realised how important these things are and how great Gill and Mark are at welcoming, challenging, and developing a writer's confidence and abilities – do it, it's ace."
Matt Nicholson

"I always look forward to Gill and Mark's workshops. They assign tasks which have resulted in poems I probably wouldn't have written otherwise and the group discussions are always fun and engaging, even when we disagree!"
Rachel Glass

"Gill and Mark's poetry workshops are great fun as well as instructive and helpful. They are both talented poets with experience of editing and their feedback is excellent, even when they disagree between themselves! Highly recommended."
Emma Storr

"Mark's novel course has given me the enthusiasm and motivation to keep going with my writing project. I come away from the session each week, itching to write. Mark is great at encouraging us, while at the same time pushing us to improve. I know we've all become better writers after taking his feedback on board and trying out new techniques. I'd definitely recommend the course to any budding novelists."
